The owners of this much-loved north coast beach house were looking to reimagine the quintessential Australian family holiday home, while holding on to the modest character and spirit of a place loved through generations. Having spent significant time living and travelling in Italy, they sought the quiet beauty and simplicity of Mediterranean living within an authentically Australian coastal setting. From the outset we envisioned an immersive retreat, where interior, landscape and daily ritual would come together through materiality, colour and light.

Interior Design & Decoration: Penman Brown

The result is a whimsical expression of beach shack luxury, grounded in a palette of smoky rose, limestone, aged brass and natural materials that feels at once earthy and transportive. With a floating heated plunge pool, traditional timber sauna and landscaping by Simon Thomas Landscapes, Kingsley Beach House dives into its next chapter with its heart intact: relaxed, tactile and deeply connected to the ocean and the rituals of coastal living.
